Who Let The Dogs Out?

by Jason Rossi 26. August 2009 08:15

I’m not the moral police but I know something is wrong when I see it.

A Michael Vick dog jersey can you say …. Too soon? I am on the side that believes his reinstatement into the NFL is right, he served his time. With that said I do not think that a dog jersey with his name on it should be able to make be sold or make profit for the NFL.

So will there be Plaxico Burress gun holsters (I bet his wishes he had one last year… OOOOOOOO no I didn’t) upon his return? Ok so which show will use this jersey as comedy first? I will put down a ton of dough on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, I can already see it happening.

Ok Ok that picture above might be doctored but still, you can by it. Don’t do it, don’t be that guy.

Radio Relevance

by Jason Rossi 12. August 2009 00:29

Dave Matthews (sadly) says it best “Funny the way it is”

WBCN was “Legendary, innovative, & The Rock of Boston” but no body cared or cares and just chalked them up as “corporate”.  I am not going to go on an all out rant how corporate.

My point is how it’s funny to see outraged fans and listeners critique the station about how it “sucks”, but once it was going to be taken away everyone comes out of the wood work to listen and attend.  Being someone who has been through a change in a station ::cough:: ::cough:: This One, I have seen first hand how people react. I just listened to their final moments as they played anything and everything they wanted and their last song Pink Floyd’s "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". In their final moments before the station went to static they played a montage of major accuracies that happened over the air, including their first moments of broadcast, Howard Sterns call of 9/11, many jocks addressing them selves over the years, and ended with a thank you and good bye…

Classy

I Just Saw A Freak'n Beatle!

by Jason Rossi 7. August 2009 13:00
Paul RockCartney
Every wonder why everyone says the Beatles are the best band of all time? The Answer wasn't hard to find the past 2 nights @ Fenway Park. As ¼ of the Beatles Paul McCartney took the city by storm. He was his charming self and commanded the stage an crowd like a it was 1964.

McCartney shared stories of John (Lennon), George (Harrison), Linda (McCartney, Jimi (Hendrix), Eric (Clapton) but no Ringo (Starr, or Starr-less, because you know it don't come easy). His stories were some of the best I have eve heard on stage.  Just think of some of the bands you really dig today staying around for 4 more decades and the stories they would have.

Paul played numerous Beatles songs like, I Saw Here Standing There, Drive My Car, Eleanor Rigby, & many many more. He also shared many Wings and solos songs onstage. The highlights of the set was when he played “A Day In The Life” and threw in “Give Peace A Chance” and the crowd chanted every word with the peace sign held up.

MGMT opened both shows and played a rather tame show (due to the audience I would believe). They were solid and a band to keep an eye on.

by Jason Rossi 4. August 2009 16:35
I went to see Coldplay last ngith and it was amazing! i will not being giving you the review but my father will. He sent me this priceless email earlier about the show. Enjoy this and then a video of a great cover from last night
"great concert last nite  all in all. I have been hard on them, because I expected more in the past. I rediscovered the cool thing about them, again their lyrics to songs that I loved personally. The Scientist  (played the way it should be)    the hardest part,,,in my place,,,,,,,,a lot of turmoil that people(me) can relate to,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I might have broken down if warning sign was played   haha,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,billy jean was a highlite,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,wish they incorperated "clocks" better should be encore material,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,checked thier other setlists    almost the same    but thats another story.

Performing Enhancied Blog

by Jason Rossi 3. August 2009 10:05

Last Friday news broke out that both beloved David Ortiz and (used to be beloved) Manny Ramirez tested positive for “performance enhancing drugs” in 2003. is anyone really shocked? Does anyone even care about steroids anymore? You should but you probably don’t. I don’t!  “America’s Past time” is now more like WWE than ever. You are waiting for the next “good guy” to turn “bad”, but its not a chair over the head of an fan favorite that make the switch it’s a chair of your head (well not a real chair of course because then there is a lawsuit, and a whole lot of money. My advice if a celebrity or ball player wants to hit you with a chair take that and the money to the bank, brain damage aside… boy this is a long sidebar, and was it was more sad than funny).

Remember the days of how players are better in Fenway, weather it be due to the “MonstAH” or the short right field wall. How about how people say can “they” (fill in a Red Sox acquisition over the past 15 years) handle the big market pressure.  So now I am starting to believe that the answer is NO they were taking something to assist them. The Green Monster doesn’t help lefties roids do.

I don’t mean to sound like a “bad guy” but I have lost faith in Baseball and think everyone who did/does Steroids or “performance enhancing drugs” is a real “bad guy”. I don’t care if it was a Red Sox, Yankee, or a Rockie this such a joke of a league that I am just waiting for the complete collapse.

Only 42 Days until the Patriots kickoff!!!

Rock Quote of the Day

Actually, we're a complete fraud. We
can't sing, play or write songs, we get
other people to do it for us. We also
pay radio stations lots
of money to tell kids to buy our
records and wear clothes like us.
-Eddie Vedder
