What a sports weekend in Boston huh?
Red Sox – Sweep the hated New York Yankees and are on a
roll. I went to the marathon game on Saturday and get this - after two Fenway
Franks and a water or two ( I only drink the heavy stuff) I never got up to go to the bathroom… I
know you needed to know that. The reason is the game was so intense come back
after comeback I felt if I got up even inbetween innings I would miss
something. The game lasted just about 4 & ½ hours, lets just say it was
long enough for me not be able to get to the Harp before the line was longer
than Best Buy’s line on Black Friday.
Celtics – 1 win 1
lose this weekend but great games nonetheless. Yesterdays double overtime lose
was made an instant classic on ESPN classic and is being replayed today … that’s
channel 366 on RCN. The question is, is it time to be worried about the C’s? Answer:
YES. Here is why the Celtics are a better team than the Bulls but are lacking
leadership and defense without Kevin Garnett. The team can without him no
problem, but it looks to me as if they don’t have faith in themselves. Ray
Allen and Paul Pierce should be using this post season as their Hall of Fame
tryout to show they can be winners without KG. I think it’s a safe assumption this
series is going 7.
Bruins – waiting in the wings to see who their round 2 opponent
will be. I must say its fun to be a B’s fan and be able to see who we will play
for once. Also to all those new fans aka pink hats… see Hockey is a fun sport.
Patriots - Is there anything more frustrating than watching
the NFL draft as a Pats fan? Now I cant complain because we are normally
drafting late in the first round (because we are damn good) and are not looking
for a franchise savor (like the Lions) but this year was trade after trade. My
favorite moment was in round 4 when the Pats were to pick after Jacksonville and as soon as we were on the clock they
traded it to Jacksonville
so if you blinked you would have not known what the hell was going on. Overall
I was very satisfied with the draft, got some talented defensive backs and some
possible role players for years to come.
